It is always fun and always a challenge to create something special for someone who creates masterpieces for a living! Bring on the challenge. This project involved a major addition and “almost” whole house remodel of a 1956 beachside home. Built in traditional Florida style with low flat ceilings, small cordoned off rooms, and low levels of natural light coming in, it seemed this homeowner wanted just about everything changed! The kitchen was small and galley style and didn’t allow for his entertaining needs. There was only room for one to cook or prep and two to sit and socialize. He had large beautiful antique furniture that simply didn’t fit anywhere. He has a grand piano, because he plays, and he wanted it to be an integral part of the overall entertainment-style layout of his main area. He also wanted to add some space; a 2-car garage, an interior laundry room, a large master suite with sidebar and access to the pool, a large master bath with walk-in shower, oversized tub and separate his and her vanities, and large walk-in closets for two also. He came to us with his basic design in hand so off to the 3D program we went and started putting dimension to his dream! Now this home boasts an oversized entertainment area complete with two high bars seating more than enough guests at once. A beautiful built-in hutch, a wall of built-in appliances, a hidden appliance garage, a working island and a “fun” peninsula all help create a space this homeowner LOVES to share. And throughout the new space hangs his beautiful artwork, colored gems, the perfect finishing touch to this picturesque renovation.
